COVID-19 CLIENT information
Here at MJS, we have a Global Biorisk Advisory Council trained technician on staff. This means that we have employees who are specifically trained in preparing for, responding to and recovering from biohazards in the workplace.
Helping You Safely Navigate the New COVID-19 Workplace
To prevent the spread of COVID-19 & reduce the potential risk of exposure to our workforce, many of our client's workforce & visitors must complete a screening questionnaire before working at a facility. All employees are required to wear a mask while working.
WHAT GUIDANCE DOES THE CDC GIVE ON PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF THE 2019 NOVEL CORONAVIRUS?
You can help prevent yourself from getting and spreading the Wuhan coronavirus–and other respiratory illnesses–by following these steps:
- Wear a mask to protect yourself and others. Wear the mask over your nose and your mouth.
- Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from others who do not live with you.
- Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated areas
- .Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds. Use 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth, especially with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Close contact includes kissing, hugging, and sharing cups or eating utensils with people.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or shirt sleeve, not your hands. Dispose of the tissue.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, such as toys and doorknobs, especially if someone is sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.

WHAT IF WE HAVE A SUSPECTED/CONFIRMED COVID--19 CASE CONFIRMED?
It is recommended to close off areas used by the ill persons and wait as long as practical before beginning cleaning and disinfection to minimize potential for exposure to respiratory droplets. Open outside doors and windows to increase air circulation in the area.
Please call 800-249-6161 or email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as you are aware of a suspected or confirmed case and we will have your GBAC-Trained Technicians speak to you on the next steps.
MJS expects our contracted facilities to notify MJS customer service immediately if there is a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 so that we may address the possible exposure to our employees. Call 800-249-6161 and email email@example.com immediately. MJS expects that common courtesy is extended to our employees just as it would to your own employees to protect the health and welfare of everyone that may encounter the facility and/or individuals.
I WANT TO ADD EXTRA DISINFECTING SERVICE. HOW DO I DO THIS?
MJS would be happy to put together a work order for you to add disinfecting services. MJS is also recommending that your staff is also disinfecting multiple times throughout the day. If MJS is the only one doing the disinfecting, it will not be as effective as surfaces become contaminated when they are touched – many areas will need regular disinfecting many times throughout the day.-
MJS will work with your facility to address staffing needs. Call 800-249-6161 to discuss available options for your facility.
WHAT IS MJS DOING TO HELP CURB THE SPREAD OF COVID-19?
All employees are required to always wear masks in addition to the required PPE for chemicals.
All facilities we clean are cleaned with an approved disinfectant in the break areas and restrooms. Disinfectant is also being used on high touch surfaces, such as door handles, light switches, in many facilities. As each facility operation schedule and facility needs are different, please contact your Quality Assurance representative if you have question on your facility.
Enhanced disinfecting, or Level 2 disinfecting, are also available on a frequency that works for your facility.
CAN I BUY WIPES, SANITIZER OR DISINFECTANT?
MJS currently has wipes and sanitizer available for purchase. Please contact 319-393-6167 for additional information.
CAN I BUY HAND SOAP?
Hand hygiene is an important part of the U.S. response to COVID-19. Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is essential, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after coughing, sneezing or blowing one’s nose.
Midwest Janitorial Supply sells a variety of hand soaps, dispensers and sanitizers.
WILL MJS BE ABLE TO PROVIDE TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR MJS EMPLOYEES IN YOUR FACILITY?
MJS will not be able to get this information for every facility. However, it is up to each facility to determine if they wish to request a self-attestation completed prior to entrance. If your facility chooses to impose a self-attestation, please notify MJS HR by calling 800-249-6161 or firstname.lastname@example.org and we will provide that information to our staff.
